N,O-Bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (BSTFA) is a versatile silylation reagent used to form stable trimethylsilyl derivatives that are volatile. CovaChems BSTFA is GC and GC/MS derivatization grade, and is routinely used to derivatize carboxylic acids, phenols, steroids, amines, alcohols, and alkaloids and amides. This reagent is ideally suited to form derivatives with smaller molecules. This reagent is available with or without the TMCS catalyst.
